Situated in the industrial area of Kelso, our purpose-built facility has plenty of on-site parking and modern facilities.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

  • Placement and finishing concrete
  • Set out
  • Formwork
  • Tying reinforcement steel/mesh

Senior Estimator

We are a family-owned company with strong family values, a progressive culture and a healthy pipeline of work.  We are seeking a reliable, motivated and driven Senior Estimator to join our team at our Bathurst Office. In return, we offer an attractive wage and great conditions with an experienced team.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

  • Preparing of quotes and tenders for Industrial Turnkey and U-Select Projects
  • Liaising with Architects, Designers, Project Managers, Builders, Government departments to ensure the above is completed accurately
  • Identifying opportunities for cost savings and design efficiencies
  • Providing feedback to the sales team on market pricing and product development
  • Provide support to the Sales Reps to ensure optimal development of customer enquiries
  • Maintaining a thorough knowledge of Akura products and offerings
  • The role is based in our Bathurst Office

 

ABOUT YOU:

  • Thorough knowledge of the Building and Construction Industry
  • Strong understanding and application of the quoting process
  • Strong Computer Skills, Excel essential and  Cubit preferable
  • Ability to prepare a bill of quantities and building up accurate cost rates
  • Ability to read Architectural plans
  • A positive approach and calm demeanour when working under time constraints
  • Ability to prioritise workloads
  • Team player

  • Problem Solving, planning and coordination

ABOUT THE JOB:

  • Ensure the timely delivery of high quality, safe construction work across multiple sites around the Central West
  • Managing sub-contractors for all trade disciplines including precast concrete, and structural steel trades
  • Understanding construction methodology for entire projects from start to finish
  • Reading drawings
  • Industrial background required

 

ABOUT YOU:

  • Carpentry background preferred
  • Must have experience in large scale industrial construction site management
  • Highly organised with excellent time and project management skills
  • Self-motivated and able to manage workflows across the construction team
  • Good attention to detail and ability to think outside the square to achieve creative solutions
  • Proven ability to multi-task and look after multiple projects
